Gbenga Edema, New Nigeria Peoples Party, NNPP, Governorship Candidate at the forthcoming November 16th, 2024 Governorship Election in Ondo has stated the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, in the State in on the Verge of collapse as its roof is leaking.

 

Edema said that arrogance has over the years been the lot of the APC and this is vivid in way and manner it is running the affairs of the party.

 

He stated that the APC Candidate at the forthcoming election, Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, who is the incumbent does not have a Secondary School Certificate, coupled with the fact that there was no Primary Election held in the Party that saw hin emerge as the Party’s Candidate.

 

“It is glaring that APC never had a Governorship Primary, it is mere imposition that saw the emergence of Aiyedatiwa as winner of the Primary.

 

“This is the more reason why Jimoh Ibrahim went to court to challenge his emergence, before he was appealed to by the Party leadership to withdraw the case from Court”.

 

The former Labour Party member added that he was part of those that founded the APC in 2014, but arrogance, greed, blasphemy and insincerity has plunged the Party to its present state.

 

Speaking on his Governorship Ambition and why he chose the NNPP, a relative unknown political party in Ondo State and in the South West, he said he has the pedigree, credibility and integrity to run for the position, stressing that him joining the race as change the narratives and complexity of the race.

 

Edema said many had thought the election was a Two Party Race, but with him joining the race, the APC and PDP has to upp the ante, as he is coming into the race to win.

 

He however disclosed that Olusola Oke was the person the NNPP leadership were planning to give their ticket to, but Oke was dilly dallying, until it got to the notice of Party that Oke has joined alliance with Aiyedatiwa of the APC, making the Party to approach him to hoist their flag at the Governorship Election.
