Olayinka Ogunleye, a young Nigerian who was recently voted and awarded the MOST VALUABLE PLAYER, MVP at the just concluded U19 Soccer tournament in the United States of America, caught the eyes of scouts from Europe and Asia for his dexterity and skills in the tournament.

The 6″5 tall central defender was noticed and appreciated for his skills, dexterity and ability to quash impending attacks from the opposition teams without committing fouls.

According to feelers, Olayinka is being considered by the NFF to join the Nigerian U20 National Team to further strengthen the Nigerian U20 defense line.

He has expressed his desire to play for the Nigerian U20 National Team, despite the invitation extended to him by the handlers of the US U20 National Team.

His father, Yommy Ogunleye, a native of Iperu, Remo in Ogun state, who acts as his manager, told reporters that Ola as he is fondly called is ready and willing to play for the Nigerian U20 National Team if he finally gets invited to the Nigerian U20 National Team.

According to him, it will be a dream come true to see his son in the Nigerian National Team jersey. He also affirmed that different clubs have shown interest in signing him up in his age category.

Olayinka, currently plays for Soccer’s Football Academy in Illinois, Chicago. He is regarded as one of the best central defenders the academy has produced. He is a quick thinker, team player, his ability and skills also helped the Soccer’s Football Academy get to the finals at the United States final of the U19 Soccer tournament.
