The Federation of International Football Association, FIFA, has brighten the hopes of Super Eagles qualification for the 2026 FIFA World having deducted three points from South African male National team, Bafana Bafana.

 

FIFA deducted the Point from South Africa for fielding a suspended player during its 2026 World Cup qualifying game against Lesotho, reducing the group C leader’s point accumulation to 14.

 

FIFA, meanwhile, awarded a 3-0 win and three points to Lesotho, dashing the rainbow nation’s hopes joining elites countries that have qualified for the 2026 world cup in United States.

 

With the deduction, the Super Eagles remain on 11 Points, with Benin Republic on 14 Points, while South Africa remain on 14 Points.

 

The Super Eagles needs to win its Two remaining matches against the Squirrel of Benin and the Leopards of Lesotho, hoping that the Bafana Bafana drops points in their Two remain Matches.
