Two second half goals from the duo of Victor Osimhen and Akor Adams was all the Super Eagles needed to claim victory over the Desert Foxes of Algeria.
The Three African Cup of Nations Winner outplayed their North African opponent, dictating play and forcing them to defend.
The victory which could be referred to as a revenge, following the Algerians triumph over the Nigerian side at AFCON 2019.
Coach Eric Chelle maintained the team that defeated the Mambas of Mozambique in the Round of 16, as they repeated their brilliant performance in their previous game against the Algerians.
The Algerian never recorded any shot on target, making their worst match in their AFCON history.
From the blast of the start whistle by the Senegalese Referee, Nigeria began attacking like a house on fire, firing from all cylinders.
Entering into the match, the Algeria’lns never conceded a goal, as their Goalkeeper, Luca Zidane was named the Best Keeper in the Group Stage for not conceding a goal.
All through the first half, the Algerians thwarted all the efforts of the Nigerian team, with Zidane making crucial saves.
Akor also missed a glorious chance to have given Nigeria the lead, but he shot wide.
As the second half commenced, in the 47th minute, Osimhen rose above the Algerian defenders to nod home the ball past the Algerian Goalkeeper.
10 minutes later, Osimhen provided an assist for Akor, who dribbled past the Goalkeeper to score the second goal and put the Super Eagles in a pole position.
Osimhen now has Four Goals, one behind the tournament top scorer, Brahim Diaz of Morocco with Five goals.
With this victory, Nigeria will face the Atlas Lion of Morocco in Rabat for their Semi Final encounter on Wednesday.
