Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, the lawmaker representing Kogi Central Senatorial District, was denied access to the National Assembly premises.
Akpoti-Uduaghan had announced hwr intention to storm the Upper Chamber of the National Assembly to resumed plenary and carry out her legislative duties following the Court Order by Justice Binta Nyako, ordering her to resume her duties with immediate effect.
She was however denied access to the Senate by Security Operatives.
It was gathered that Akpoti-Uduaghan was halted by the security personnel gathered at the NASS premises while she was making her way to the Xhamber accompanied by supporters including Human Rights Activist, Aisha Yesufu.
The lawmaker who is serving a six-month suspension by the Upper Lawmaking body had vowed to resume sitting in the NASS Chambers.
However, when Akpoti-Uduaghan attempted to resume plenary, her convoy, including a car carrying activist Yesufu, was reportedly stopped at the National Assembly gate.
Despite identifying herself and presenting her credentials, the Senator, who later proceeded on foot with supporters, was allegedly denied entry into the premises.
The spokesperson of the Senate, Senator Yemi Adaramodu had stated that the Senate had not ordered Akpoti-Uduaghan to resume despite the Court ruling, stating that the Senate needs to get the Certified True Copy of the judgment, studied and reviewed by the Senate before she could be recalled back to Plenary.
