Victor Osimhen of Napoli is the subject of a €120 million deal from Bayern Munich, according to Corriere Dello Sport.
Robert Lewandowski, who is about to leave the Allianz Arena this summer, is seen by the Bavarians as being perfectly replaced by the 23-year-old Nigerian.
Lewandowski is eager to join Barcelona, a Spanish powerhouse, and has one year left on his contract.
Osimhen, who joined the Partenopei two years ago from Ligue 1 team Lille, has been pressed since his arrival. The Partenopei are aware of the interest from other clubs, but they are not willing to allow him deto part for anything less than €100m, having signed him for a club and African record sum of €75m.
The striker, who has three years left on his contract with Napoli, is being pursued by Premier League clubs Arsenal, Manchester United, and Newcastle United.
In 51 league games for the Naples team, the Nigerian scored 24 goals and handed out eight assists.
Osimhen had a productive season last year, making 27 Serie A games, scoring 14 goals, and dishing out five assists.
For Napoli, which finished third in Serie A last season with 79 points from 38 games, he also scored four goals and provided one assist in the Europa League.
Osimhen will need little time to adjust to the Bundesliga environment, according to former Eagles coach Gernot Rohr, who has pushed Bayern to sign him if Lewandowski decides to go.
Victor would be a fantastic replacement for Robert Lewandowski, according to Rohr, who spoke to Sports Bild.
In Munich, I believe he would win. His adjustment period is quicker than with other foreign players because he has experience in the Bundesliga and speaks a little German,” Rohr continued.
