Super Eagles of Nigeria prolific and versatile dazzler, Samuel Chukwueze was in action yesterday for Unai Emery led Villarreal team in a club friendly which was their second pre-season game against PSV Eindhoven at the Philips Stadion.
The Yellow Submarine in the game were able to outshine the host to a hard-fought two goals to one victory at full time which was their first win after their first pre-season game ended one all draw against Sporting CP, and as such got them on the right track going into the new campaign which is set to kick-off in August.
Samuel Chukwueze started the game from the bench due to tactical reason but was introduced in the early minute of the second half for Yeremy Pino and he was able to play his part and also contributed his quota.
The 23 years old Nigerian international was as such at the heart of the forward line after his introduction when they were still levelled at one all draw with nothing to separate them.
The Unai Emery’s side trailed from behind after they conceded the lead with a goal from Luuk de Jong in the 25th minute to make it one nil which was the only goal that separated the two sides going into the half time break.
The visitor in the second half were able to turn the fortune of the game around as they stepped up their game by putting up some more physical, tactical and technical displays and as such got an equalizer in the 47th minute courtesy of a goal from Yeremy Pino to make it 1-1 before Nicolas Jackson gave the visitor the lead by making it two goals to one in the 79th minute.
After every other attempts from both sides to add more to the tally of the game, all proved abortive as it ended two goals to one at full time.
Samuel Chukwueze with his superb and great influx of delivery in the game will be hoping to keep the tempo and momentum going for the Yellow Submarine in their next game as they prepared more harder going into the new campaign.
