… Urges supporters to disregard, ignore rumours.
In response to recent circulating reports suggesting that Olugbenga Edema, a leading governorship aspirant seeking the ticket of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ondo State, has withdrawn from the race, the aspirant has vehemently denied these claims, affirming his continued commitment to the electoral process leading up to the party primaries scheduled for Saturday, April 20, 2024.
In a statement, Edema addressed the misinformation, stating, “I want to make it categorically clear that I have not stepped down from the Ondo State governorship race. I remain fully dedicated to pursuing the party’s ticket and ultimately serving the people of Ondo State.”
Contrary to the speculation that he had relinquished his candidature in favour of another aspirant, Edema emphasised, “I have not yielded my ambition to anyone. I am in this race to win, and I urge my supporters to disregard any false information suggesting otherwise.”
Furthermore, Edema, who reaffirmed his unwavering determination to contest in the primaries, asserted that “I’m still very much in the race for the APC governorship ticket in Ondo State. The rumours of my withdrawal are baseless and should be disregarded.”
Edema urged the public to be cautious of false narratives during the election season.
“It is regrettable that such misleading reports are being circulated. I urge everyone to verify information before accepting it as true. My focus remains on engaging with the electorate and presenting my vision for a better Ondo State.”
