Emir Of Dutse, Nuhu Sanusi Is Dead

The Jigawa State Government has been thrown into mourning as one of its revered Monarch, Emir of Dutse, Nuhu Sanusi is Dead.

The 79 Year Old Monarch was said to have died this evening after a protracted illness.

He died at the National Hospital in Abuja, the nation’s Capital.

The news of his demise was announced and confirmed in a statement signed by the state governor’s Senior Special Assistant, New Media, Auwalu Sankara.

In a statement, the Jigawa State governor, Alhaji Muhammad Badaru Abubakar expressed his condolences to the family and entire people of the state.

He described the late Emir as a true leader and a respected figure in the community, known for his wisdom, compassion, and dedication to the well-being of his people.

He also recognized the Emir’s contributions to the growth and development of Dutse and the positive impact he had on the community.

Sanusi was appointed the Emir of Dutse by the military administration of the Late Colonel Ibrahim Aliyu in 1995 after the passing away of his father Muhammad Sanusi.

The late emir was appointed pioneer Chancellor of the Sokoto State University, Sokoto, by a former Governor of the state, Alhaji Aliyu Magatakarda Wamakko.

Born in 1945 at Yargaba village in Dutse, the capital of Jigawa State, Dr. Sanusi attended Dutse Elementary School from 1952 to 1956.

After his post-primary education, he obtained a National Certificate in Education from Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, and later a Bachelor of Science and a Master of Arts in International Business from Ohio University, United States of America.

He further obtained a Post-Graduate Diploma in Project Planning and Analysis from Bradford University, United Kingdom.

The emir was awarded an honorary Ph.D. in Management by the Federal University of Technology, Owerri, Imo State.

The Late Emir acquired substantial experience in agricultural consultancy and industrial and commercial management after working for several years.

He was buried on Wednesday.
