Roberto Firmino has reacted to his exclusion from the Brazil 2022 World Cup Squad with two Bible quotations.
In a message written on Facebook in his native Portuguese language which was automatically translated to English by the social media network, Firmino used quotes from the Christian Holy Bible to suggest that he is not worried about missing out on the squad, while thanking friends and family for all the kind messages they sent to him since the confirmation of his absence from the squad.
Firmino also noted in his post that the world Cup is a dream for every footballwr and that he was grateful to God that he had lived that dream before as well as many others.
The first passage Firmino quoted in his social media post was Isaiah 26:3 which reads: “You, Lord, will keep in perfect peace him whose purpose is firm, because he trusts in you.”
