The World woke up to the shocking news of Legendary Morocco’s Midfielder who still remains the only Moroccan to ever win the African Footballer of the year Award of forging a certificate which he could have attained with ease based on his pedigree and recognition.
According to goal and Daily Mail, the Confederations of African Football CAF have suspended the Former Coventry and Aston Villa midfielder, Mustapha Hadji for forging CAF ‘A’ coaching licence. The 51 year Old, was found guilty after a thorough investigation by CAF, in verifying his Certificate. CAF admitted that there was no time he ever registered for the ‘A’ coaching licence training and that he was never awarded any diploma to that effect.
Mustapha Hadji joined the coaching league shortly after his retirement from professional football in 2010 and has been able to work as assistant manager to current Saudi Arabian Manager, Herve Renard and Former Morocco’s Coach Badou Zaki in previous years. However, he’s been Banned for 5 years from participating in any football activity after working as an assistant Coach with the Morocco’s National Team.
CAF disciplinary committee have upheld his 5 years ban from football related activities while he also have days to file an appeal against the verdict. Mustapha Hadji was crowned as the best African football Player in 1998 after beating Austin Jay Jay okocha of Nigeria with very few votes. His action has been tagged as embarrassing by many and for the fact that he is a legendary Sports man, his followers and supporters will be down cast as their mentor will not have anything to do with football matters in 5 years time. CAF ‘A’ coaching licence is the highest in Africa coaching certificate training and it’s equivalent to another continent’s higher football coaching certification. For many in the sports world, Hadji has done poorly and needs to defend himself as he’s already seen as bad example.
