It is all smiles for Incumbent Governor of Akwa Ibom State, Emmanuel Udom as his Candidate, Umo Eno of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, as been declared winner of the March 18 Governorship and State House Of Assembly Election by the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC.
Eno polled 354,348 to defeat his closest rivals — Akanimo Udofia of the All Progressives Congress (APC) who scored 129,602 votes and Labour Party (LP)’s Uduakobong who got 4,746 votes.
Eno was declared the winner by INEC Returning Officer in the state, Prof Emmanuel Adigio.
With this victory, Governor Udom has however demystified Senator Elect, Godswill Obot Akpabio, for the second time ever since the former Governor of Akwa Ibom jumped ship from the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, to the All Progressives Congress, APC.
