Many hours ago, BBC News Yoruba interviewed the Lagos state gubernatorial candidate of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Olajide Adediran (popularly called Jandor), where he spoke about the last election and some issues in his political party.
Speaking about Chief Bode George, Jandor said, “I suspect that Chief Bode George is working for the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) to ensure that our party does not win Lagos guber election at any time. If not, why is it that he keeps causing crisis every gubernatorial election year?”
Speaking further, Olajide Adediran said, “if you check history, you will realize that Chief Bode George also told people not to vote for Jimi Agbaje during the guber election before this one. All the votes I eventually got in the election were just allocated to me if not how will they say I got just three thousand votes from my local government?”
Again, Olajide Adediran said, “Chief Bode George told me I will be disgraced if I don’t step down. He is a friend to the father of Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour and they wanted Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour to be my running mate but I refused. That was why Bode George went ahead to endorse the Labour Party’s candidate instead of me.”
Lastly, Olajide Adediran said, “the fact about the election is that I have learnt lessons. Some people accused me of getting money from the chieftains of the party during the election but the truth is that I did not get any money. I expected support from the top arm of the party but got none.”
