First it was Obinna Nwafor, popularly known as Saints Obi, followed by Mukaila Adedigba, a veteran Actor of Yoruba genre of the industry, and now Murphy Afolabi.

The death of Afolabi is however surprising to lovers of the actor and the fans of the industry.

It was gathered that he slipped off in the bathroom, hitting his head on the ground and sustained serious head injuries.

He was said to have died on the way to the hospital.

The news of his death was confirmed by one of his colleague, Tunde Ola-Yusuf who took to his social media platform on Sunday afternoon to mourn Afolabi.

He wrote: “REST IN PEACE…

“May God give the family and close associates the fortitude to bear the loss.

Another actor, Odunlade Adekola took to his Instagram page to react in shock. He shared a photo of pitch darkness and captioned it with: “Jesus Christ We lost Murphy”, he said.

Other Yoruba Actors and Actress have however took to their social media platforms to mourn Afolabi.

The 49-Year Old celebrated his birthday barely a week ago on Friday, May 5th, 2023.

He was however buried on Monday amidst tears from families, friends, colleagues, fans and associates.
