Nigerian international and forward maestro, Stephen Odey was phenomenal yesterday for Danish Super Liga giant Randers FC in their 5th league game of the new season away from home against FC Copenhagen at the Parken Stadium.
The 24 year old former Genk star started the game from the bench due to tactical reason but was introduced in the 46th minute to replace Filip Bundgaard and he was able to deliver at the optimal level.
Stephen Odey was at the heart of the forward line after his introduction where he gave an all-round performance to create some clear cut chances which were instrumental in the four-goal thriller, thereby making his minutes spent on the pitch of play a meaningful and impactful one.
The first half of the game was such a balanced one between the two sides as there was nothing separating them going into the half time break before the host of the night opened the scoring sheet in the 46th minute with a goal from Valdemar Lund Jensen to make it one nil.
The visitor after conceding the lead turned the the fortune of the game around by netting an equalizer in the 57th minute with a goal from Marvin Egho to make it 1-1 before the host got the lead in the 60th minute with a goal from Frederik Lauenborg, to make it two goals to one after which they were able to double the lead courtesy of a goal from Hugo Andersson in the 70th minute to make it three goals to one.
After so many efforts from both sides to add more to the tally of the night, all proved abortive as it ended three goals to one scoreline at full time.
Stephen Odey with his superb delivery in the game will be hoping to maintain the standard in their next game so as to keep their winning streaks going in the competition.
