Families of Legendary Musician and Actress, Onyeka Onwenu has announced that the award winning artists will buried by August ending.

The remains of the iconic singer will be interred before the end of this month as the family made the disclosure while receiving a team of delegates from the Musical Society of Nigeria, MCSN, who paid them a condolence visit at Ikoyi, Lagos, residence of the late singer.

The MCSN delegates led by Orits Wiliki, Chairman, Board of Trustees of MCSN, met with Onwenu’s sons, Abram and Tjiani expressed their intention to respect their late mother’s wishes by committing her remains to the mother earth as soon as possible.

According to them, the burial arrangement would be announced in the coming days.

It would be recalled that the Legendary Musician died last Tuesday after performing at the 80th Birthday Celebration of the Chief Executive Officer of Emzor Pharmaceuticals, Dr. Stella Okoli, and slumped from her seat after her performance.

She was rushed to Reddington Hospital where she gave up the ghost.

The late singer in an opinion piece on Premium Times in 2021, had emphasized that her burial should be devoid of unnecessary fanfare.

“Do it quickly, quietly and privately. Mourn, yes but not excessively. Celebrate me with prayers, lunch or dinner afterwards. Share some jokes about me and laugh,” Onwenu was quoted as saying back then.
