Nigerian youngster Mathias Oyewusi was the hero for Zalgiris Vilnius football club of Lithuania on Tuesday night, as he came from the bench to score an extra time winning goal in their hard-fought 1-0 victory over FC Ballkani of Kosovo in the UEFA Champions League qualifier.
The former Gorica football club star started the game from the bench, and he was able to perform excellently after being introduced in the second half.
The 23 years old replaced Oliver Buff in the 62nd minute of the game, and he was able to make an instant impact on the pitch, as he scored the only goal of the game.
The first leg of the game ended up in a goalless draw between the two teams in Kosovo last week, and the two clubs started the game with the aim of securing victory.
The two teams tried so hard to score in the both halves of the game, but all their efforts were not successful, as the first 90 minutes ended goalless.
Substitute Nigerian star Mathias Oyewusi scored the winning goal of the game for the host in the 97th minute to end the match 1-0.
Oyewusi was impressive for the home team after being introduced to the pitch, and he was able to mark his excellent performance with an extra time winning goal.
Zalgiris Vilnius football club of Lithuania have now progressed to the next round of the UEFA Champions League qualification, following their 1-0 aggregate victory over Ballkani FC.
