The Labour Party, LP, Presidential Candidate at the 2023 Presidential Election, Peter Gregory Obi has advocated for the need for the President Bola Ahmed Tinubu led Federal Government to prioritize Education and Healthcare, particularly for the girl child, as key steps towards national development.

 

He said by so doing, the Girl Child would have a sense of belonging.

 

Obi took to his X handle, highlighting the importance of advocating for the rights of the girl child, calling it both a moral duty and a strategic investment in the nation’s future.

 

The former Anambra State Governor made this statemnts while speaking after engagements in Adamawa and Kaduna, he underscored the transformative impact of empowering girls through education, healthcare, and equal opportunities.

 

Obi further stressed that his visit to Kaduna’s Womanhood College of Health Sciences and Technology, where he donated ₦5 million, praising the institution’s role in training women for the healthcare sector. Obi also reaffirmed his earlier ₦10 million donation to Saint Gerard’s Nursing School and pledged an additional ₦5 million despite missing a planned visit due to traffic.

 

He however further reiterated his commitment to supporting initiatives that foster inclusive development, stressing that dismantling barriers for girls is essential for building a sustainable and equitable future.
