The WAFCON currently going on in Morocco has been living up to expectation, especially with the game of the Bayana Bayana and the Super Falcons. The highly motivated South Africans, who are yet to win the tournament after reaching the final four different times, shocked the Super Falcons, again.

It is the second consecutive defeat for the Super Falcons against the South Africans, the game ended 2-1 and many people have been disappointed in the Nigerian ladies for not making a bright start.

Super Falcon’s defender, Ashleigh Plumptre, spoke to NFF TV and said that she is a very competitive person who doesn’t like to lose games. She also said that the fact that they lost the first game doesn’t mean all hope is lost, and that they are still going for the tenth trophy.

The loss has, however, motivated them to prove themselves and do more, according to her, they are focused on the next game, they are ready to give 100% and put their body on the line to deliver victory.

Ashleigh emphasized that winning and losing is part of the sport, and that the beauty of a tournament is that they can recover from a group stage loss and learn from their early errors. She also asked fans to keep supporting the Falcons because they are counting on them.
