Portuguese top division side Boavista have preserved their top flight status for another season in the Portuguese top division after finishing 9th following the conclusion of the league.

Their position is respectable going by their modest nature in the league and many tipped them to be involved in a relegation scrap, but they brave the odds to finish well and plans have started for next season.

One of their key players for the season was Nigeria international defender Bruno Onyemaechi, the 24 year old who spent the season on loan to the team from second division side CD Feirense made 29 appearances in the league.

Comfortable as a left back or a centre back , he did just enough for the team to activate the clause of signing him permanently from Feirense where his contract expired at the end of this season, but the option of triggering an extension to his contract at the club was utilized by the club.

Boavista will pay the sum of €500,000 to make the deal permanent and also offer him a four year deal with Feirense having a percentage of his future transfer per what we exclusively gathered.

Bruno has been called up twice to the senior national team of Nigeria but he is yet to be handed his debut and he will be hoping for a change if he makes the cut for the AFCON qualifiers game against Sierra Leone.
