As the world celebrates the International World Peace Day, the Country Director, International Association of World Peace Advocates, IAWPA, a Non-Governmental Organization with the United Nations, UN, Amb. John Adekorede Aderibigbe has call on the President Elect, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu and incumbent Governor of Lagos State, Babajide Olusola Sanwo Olu to further promote peaceful coexistence, unity, love, perseverance and tolerance among Nigerians.
The Peace Advocate and Ambassador said there was need for Nigerians to live peacefully among themselves irrespective of religion, tribe, culture, language, norms and values for the betterment, unity and development of the country.
The UN Ambassador added that as the administration of Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu is coming on board after the expiration of the President Muhammadu Buhari administration on May 29th, 2023, there is need for the nation to be at peace and unite for the growth and development of the nation in all sectors.
In a Statement by Aderibigbe through his Media Aide, Akinwale Kasali, the IAWPA Country Director with the UN said that fanning the ember of hatred across political, religious, tribal, cultural divides would further plunged the nation into chaos and unnecessary brickbats.

“As a Peace Ambassador that President Elect, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Lagos State Governor Elect, Babajide Olusola Sanwo Olu are, there is need to preach and propagate the peace gospel for the unity of the country.
“The peace of the nation is non-negotiable, which means that Tinubu and Sanwo Olu must use their good office to preach this to all the Six geopolitical zones because the nation is at this pathetic state where terrorism, banditry, kidnapping and other vices have reigned supreme due to lack of unity and peaceful coexistence which is the focal point of the UN.
“The sentiments, hatred and bigotry we witnessed during the last general election is as a result of the lack of peace and unity, this should however be a thing of the past, as the narratives need to be changed”.
The UN Peace Advocates also urged Nigerians to always be their brothers keeper and show love to one another at all times and also live peacefully as one.
