Oluwaremilekun Adebanjo, the chairman of FC Ramond International, is encouraging the Super Eagles to display commitment and passion at AFCON 2023. Additionally, he expresses optimism about his club’s success in the upcoming FA Cup and League competitions.

FC Ramond International ‘s chairman, Oluwaremilekun Adebanjo, has voiced his concerns over the lackadaisical performance of the Super Eagles in their group matches at the ongoing African Cup of Nations Championship in Côte d’Ivoire. Adebanjo urged the national team to exhibit greater commitment and passion when representing the country in major tournaments. Despite their lackluster performances, he expressed satisfaction with their qualification for the Round of 16 and called for an improved showing in the knockout phase.

While supporting the idea of integrating local-based players into the team, Adebanjo highlighted the challenge of the Nigeria Professional Football League players’ limited exposure. He emphasized the need for the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) to scout for talented and committed players at the grassroots level, noting that these players excel at their respective clubs but often fall short of expectations when playing for the national team.

Adebanjo also lamented the absence of a creative midfielder to supply passes to Victor Osimhen, stressing the importance of Coach Jose Peseiro addressing this issue for the team’s progress in the tournament. Shifting focus to his club, FC Ramond International, Adebanjo shared the team’s preparations for the upcoming season, particularly the Lagos FA Cup and the league. Recalling last season’s Round of 32 exit in a controversial match against Dosu Joseph Football Club, he expressed the team’s determination to perform better and secure the coveted trophy.

In terms of readiness, Adebanjo revealed that FC Ramond International is embarking on a training tour to Ijebu Ode in Ogun State. The team will engage NPFL side Remo Football Club in a friendly match to prepare for the forthcoming season. Confident in his team’s preparation, Adebanjo declared their intention to make a significant impact in both the FA Cup and the league, urging their fans to stand by them as they strive for an unbeaten run and aim to bring pride to their supporters.
