For years, Blossom International Charity Organization has been a force to reckon with in reaching out to the needy through its philanthropic gesture.
Despite the economic situation that has worsened following the removal of fuel subsidy by the present President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Administration, the United Kingdom based Mental Health Practitioner and President of the Organization, Titi Adesina-Ogundokun hasn’t rest on her oars in putting smiles on the faces of the needy and underprivileged in her own little way.
The Ogun State Born Philanthropist stormed Ikorodu Area of Lagos State with her team by reaching out to the needy through Leaders of various Communities in identifying those who are vulnerable and are in need by giving out food items.
Food Items such as Rice, Beans, Indomie, Garri, Sachet Groundnut Oil and others were shared to cushion the effect of the fuel subsidy removal on the people.
Aside the sharing of foodstuffs to the needy, the foundation also did a Medical Check Ups for residents of Ikorodu as Medical Practitioners were brought to the area which saw hundreds of people coming out to partake in the exercise and also enjoy the opportunities made available by the foundation.
Speaking at the Medical Check Up exercise, Yeye Bewaji as she is fondly called said in the cause of the exercise it discovered that a lot of people aren’t conversant with the health status as many are moving about with very high blood pressure unknowingly, which is deadly.
“It is so sad that a lot of people are suffering. For someone to have a high Blood Pressure unknowingly, you know what that means if you’re on medical line. The People were advised to go straight to the general hospital, assisted with some token and medical advice given”.
She however urged well meaning Nigerians at home and in diaspora to join the train ant support the foundation in reaching out to the needy.
She said, “Please help us so we can assist those who have no family abroad”.
Beneficiaries of the philanthropic gesture of the foundation has lauded the Convener for having them in mind and making their welfare a priority.
Yeye Bewaji however appreciated those who have been supportive and partnered with the foundation in uplifting the needy and vulnerable at this precarious time.
She added that the foundation hope to support the mentally ill by providing a food bank voucher to those in dire need and little support towards their expensive medication.
Her Philanthropic gestures through her foundation led to her Conferment of a Chieftancy title as the Yeye Bewaji of Eposo Remo, Ogun State.
