Yeni Kuti, the elder sister of Grammy-nominated afrobeat musician, Femi Kuti has revealed the reason the singer’s ex-wife, Funke, left the singer.
The popular media personality made this known in a chat with media personality, Chude Jideonwo.
According to her, the breakdown of their marriage was due to “communication breakdown.”
She further revealed that Funke regretted her actions as she later said if she had known what she knows now, she probably wouldn’t have divorced the singer.
She said, “I think [Femi and Funke’s divorce was a result of] a communication breakdown. Because Funke even now says if she had known then what she knows now, she probably wouldn’t have left the marriage. So, I think it was a communication breakdown.
“You know, you need to know our people, our people, we can be very devilish. If you see something that is good, it’s how you will bring it down that you will now focused on.
“So, a lot of people have been talking to her. It’s just like me, people are saying, ‘Why are you still dancing for your brother? Go and form your own band.’ Which band do I want to form? Did I ever come and meet you that I want to form a band?”

Popular Nigerian musician Danny Young claims he paved the way for singers Seyi Vibez and Asake.
The singer made the claim in a video that has now gone viral on social media as he reviewed the Asake’s recent achievements with his friends.
According to him, he started the style of music Seyi Vibez and Asake now make.
While acknowledging the global recognition of Nigerian music, he said: “But you know say na me start that music, the style, the lamba, the streets, tune. Anytime wey you dey hear those lamba, make you know say na me, no cap.”
